Omega Predator Hunter ( One-Off )
Quote from Ninering62 on 06/30/2023, 06:57I’ve had plans for the last -over 2yrs to build a light, small caliber smokeless Omega for Coyotes, Bobcats etc & I love blasting Armadillos at every opportunity, unfortunately foxes are off the target of opportunity list in Fl.
I wanted this to be an 8lb complete pkg with match grade accuracy bc not only do I love doin headshots, but I’ll be getting my regular trigger therapy in with this gun too at my 400yd backyard shooting range. Oh yeah, it NEEDS TO BE – affordable to shoot on my meager disability income too.
A buddy in another forum had this beautiful AppleJack TH Omega stock for sale & he let me make pymts on it so I could have it for this project build. But after the fact, I started wanting to change things up & re-reinvent the wheel with the type of stock I want & weight weight weight is always at the forefront of it. So I went in a ginormous complete circle chasing my tail with dreams & possibilities that aren’t available & haven’t been invented as of yet, to find out how, not just difficult making any of those ideas become a reality would be, but how friggin expensive it would end up being too. So, yesterday afternoon, I finally arrived at my destination- right back where I started to begin with LOL.
This ” Omega Nirvana ” happened when I decided to put the action in the stock, push the barrel in, painters tape them in, tape the DNZ mount on it, along with putting a spare scope in it, to give myself a realistic idea of what I’ll have – looks, feel, balance, and yes, weight. I carried it around the house for a while, shouldering it quickly to see its natural point n shoot ability, held it in the ready position while sweeping the field outside the fam rm. it was really nice, it felt great in my hands, pretty well balanced & it reminded me of the first time I held a new Omega when they were first released, why I instantly fell in love with this particular gun so much.
It weighs 8.8lbs as you see it.
I think I’ll keep it lol
Soooo now it’s just a matter of getting the funds together to send it off to my builder & then buying the scope I want on it.
Here’s the mock-up pics for a lil tease.
